Lugang He Qi Villa, Heritage museum in Lugang Township, Taiwan
The Heqi Villa combines classical Minnan architectural elements with Greek and Romanesque influences, featuring multiple courtyards and decorative details throughout the mansion.
Built in the late 1800s by a merchant family, the villa served as a center for trade and cultural exchange during Taiwan's transformation from Qing dynasty to Japanese colonial period.
The museum displays traditional Taiwanese crafts, religious artifacts, and a detailed mural map identifying local artisans who maintain centuries-old production techniques.
Located at Number 8 Houche Lane, the museum opens Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with free admission for all visitors.
The mansion's courtyard regularly hosted theatrical performances for guests, maintaining a tradition of cultural entertainment that continues through modern exhibitions.
