Shengping Theater

Shengping Theater is a theater building in Ruifang District featuring Chinese cypress wood roofs and hollow brick walls that give it a distinctive appearance. The structure has a U-shaped upper level with wooden seating that creates an open viewing space for performances.

The theater was built in 1916 to accommodate around 400 spectators for performances. It underwent multiple reconstructions in 1934 and 1961, followed by a comprehensive renovation in 2011 that restored and modernized the space.

The theater has long served as a gathering place where residents and visitors watch traditional opera performances and local artistic shows. It remains a center for cultural expression in the district and reflects the importance of performing arts in daily community life.
