Beigang Tourist Bridge, Pedestrian footbridge in Lioujiao Township, Taiwan.
Beigang Tourist Bridge is a pedestrian footbridge spanning the Beigang River and connecting Lioujiao and Beigang townships. The structure stretches approximately 270 meters in length and 7 meters in width, constructed with three steel arches that distribute weight across the water.
The bridge was inaugurated in 2003, marking an important milestone in regional infrastructure development. This connection significantly improved accessibility between Chiayi and Yunlin counties.
The bridge incorporates red and gold steel elements arranged in a three-arch design that depicts a dragon, a symbol rooted in traditional Taiwanese aesthetics. Walking across, visitors experience this cultural representation as a physical part of their journey between the two townships.
The bridge welcomes both pedestrians and cyclists, with access available during operating hours. Minxiong Station on the Taiwan Railways is nearby, making it convenient for travelers arriving from surrounding areas.
The three arches create different visual perspectives depending on where you stand and the time of day you visit. These changing views make each crossing a distinct visual experience that draws photographers and art lovers.
