Description
Chortovi Skeli is a protected forest reserve featuring sandstone rock formations spread across 353 hectares in Lviv Oblast near Lysynychi village. These natural cliffs rise prominently above the surrounding woodland, creating distinctive geological structures that define the landscape.
History
The site preserves traces of a Paleolithic hunter's camp alongside remains of a medieval watchtower built during King Daniel's reign. These two periods reveal how the rock formations have been used by people across thousands of years.
Culture
The rock formations carry the name Devil's Rocks, rooted in local folklore and stories passed down through the generations in this region. Visitors come to understand how these tales shape the way people connect with the natural landscape.
