Tempel Synagogue in Ivano-Frankivsk

The Tempel Synagogue is a prayer house with four symmetrical domes and large arched windows that define its exterior and are noticeable from a distance. Inside, it contains separate prayer halls for men and women, a ritual bath for religious cleansing, and rooms for community gatherings.

The building was designed by architect Wilhelm Stiassny in 1895 when the city was under Austro-Hungarian rule and called Stanisławów. Its construction reflected a period when the Jewish community in the region was strong and building such places of worship showed their growing presence.
