Arsenalna, Metro station in Pechersk district, Kyiv, Ukraine.
Arsenalna is a metro station in Kyiv and one of the deepest railway stations in the metro system at approximately 105 meters below ground. Access is provided by two consecutive escalators that guide passengers through white-plastered vault ceilings and ceramic-tiled walls to reach the platform.
The station opened in 1960 and is located near the Arsenal Factory, which produced military equipment starting from the 18th century. The establishment of this industrial facility significantly shaped the development of the Pechersk district.
The station displays Soviet architectural style from the 1960s with its characteristic column structures and plastered vaults, typical of that era's construction approach.
Reaching the platform on foot takes approximately five minutes as two separate escalator systems must be traversed. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for the lengthy descent.
The station ranks among the world's deepest metro stations and requires a longer escalator ride than at most other stops. This depth makes the experience there special as passengers find themselves far below the city.
