Vorontsov Palace, Imperial palace in Odesa, Ukraine
The palace features classical columns, stone lions at the entrance, decorative friezes, and a grand colonnade overlooking the Black Sea coast.
Built between 1826 and 1834 by architect Franz Boffo, the palace served as the residence of governor-general Mikhail Vorontsov during the Russian Empire period.
The palace library contained rare books that were later donated to the local university, forming the Vorontsov Collection that remains preserved today.
Located at 1 Prymorsky Boulevard, the palace stands 100 meters from the Duke of Richelieu monument and connects to the central district of Odesa.
During the Crimean War in 1854, the Anglo-French fleet used the palace's elevated position as a reference point for targeting their bombardment of Odesa.
