Antonivka, Suburban settlement in Kherson Oblast, Ukraine
Antonivka is an urban-type settlement situated on the right bank of the Dnieper River in Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. The area spreads across a valley with residential neighborhoods, industrial zones, and patches of green that define its character.
The settlement was founded in 1822 when migrants from Poltava arrived to establish a new community in southern Ukraine. This early period coincided with Russian expansion into the region's agricultural lands and river valleys.
The population incorporates Ukrainian, Russian, Tatar, Armenian, Romani, German, and Greek communities, reflecting the regional demographic patterns of southern Ukraine.
The settlement is well connected to highways M17 and M14, which provide routes to other parts of southern Ukraine. Visitors will find local shops and services scattered across the main streets throughout the area.
A major glassworks factory and winery form the backbone of the local economy and give the place its industrial character. Alongside these, a bakery and beverage factory produce daily goods that supply the wider region.
