Buhaivka is a small settlement located in the eastern part of Ukraine at an elevation of about 129 meters above sea level. The community occupies a modest territorial area with residential buildings and local facilities arranged in a compact layout.
The settlement was founded in 1763 and has been part of the regional landscape for centuries. In 2020 it underwent administrative changes when it transferred to Alchevsk urban hromada jurisdiction.
The 2001 census revealed that 64.46 percent of Buhaivka residents spoke Ukrainian as their primary language, while 35.12 percent used Russian.
