Krasna Hora, Urban settlement in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
Krasna Hora is an urban-type settlement in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. The locality developed around a ceramics factory and sits at roughly 113 m above sea level in an area with deposits of red clay.
The settlement began in 1906 when a ceramics factory was built, drawing seasonal workers who eventually settled permanently. After wartime destruction in the 1940s, the factory was rebuilt, spurring new housing development starting in 1949.
The settlement is tied to brick production, a craft rooted in the red clay found locally. This tradition has shaped how the community developed and what people do here.
The settlement is part of Bakhmut Hromada and operates on eastern European time (UTC+02:00 in winter, UTC+03:00 in summer). Visitors should know that this is an industrial working community without tourism infrastructure.
The factory attracted workers from across the region who built a new community here after arriving. This mix of migrants shaped the social fabric of the settlement in ways that differed from purely local towns.
