Zaitseve

Zaitseve is an urban-type settlement in Bakhmut region, Ukraine. The community lies roughly 60 kilometers northeast of Donetsk and approximately 4 kilometers south of Bakhmut.

The settlement was founded in 1776 and developed from a small farming community. It grew in importance as industrial development reached eastern Ukraine.

The population distribution in 2001 showed Russian as the primary language for 93 percent of residents, with Ukrainian spoken by 6 percent of inhabitants.

Visitors should be aware that the settlement is located in an area with a complex history and infrastructure may be limited in some areas. It is wise to check local conditions before planning a visit.

The settlement is known to many as a place that played a significant role during various phases of conflict in eastern Ukraine. Its location made it historically important to the broader region.
