Petrivka is a small urban settlement in eastern Ukraine's Bakhmut Raion, part of the Toretsk Hromada administrative structure. The community is situated in the Donetsk Oblast region.
The settlement was previously administered as part of Toretsk until 2020, when it became integrated into the newly formed Toretsk Hromada. In 2024, Ukraine's parliament approved a name change to Novospaske.
The population of 1,009 residents maintains strong linguistic ties to Ukrainian heritage, with 95.15 percent of inhabitants speaking Ukrainian as their primary language.
The settlement is located in Donetsk Oblast and observes Eastern European time. Access to the area follows typical travel patterns for the region.
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, voted to change the settlement's name from Petrivka to Novospaske on September 19, 2024.
