Novoekonomichne

Novoekonomichne is an urban-type settlement in the Pokrovsk region, located in eastern Donetsk Oblast at about 137 meters above sea level. The settlement sits surrounded by farmland and industrial zones, blending urban and rural characteristics in its layout.

The settlement received its urban classification during Soviet administrative reforms in 1925, which created new categories for populated areas across Ukraine. This designation shaped how the place developed and grew over the following decades.

People here blend work in factories with tending fields, creating a daily life that sits between city and countryside. This mixed character shapes how residents use the settlement and spend their time between different kinds of labor.

The settlement sits about 13 kilometers from the Pokrovsk district center and is reached by regular transport connections. This proximity makes it fairly easy for visitors to access regional services and facilities.

In 2023, this place underwent major changes when Ukraine abolished the Soviet-era category of urban-type settlement through national reforms. This administrative shift marked the end of a classification system that had lasted over a century.
