Вышгородский государственный историко-культурный заповедник

The Vyshhorod State Historical and Cultural Reserve is a museum complex spread across several buildings in a village north of Kyiv. The exhibits contain archaeological discoveries, medieval artifacts, and pottery collections that span different periods of the region's past.

The reserve was established in 1994 on land where ancient settlements from Kievan Rus once flourished. It preserves evidence of human activity dating back to the 10th century and the early medieval period.

The collections display medieval jewelry, coins, and pottery pieces that reveal how people worked and dressed in earlier times. You can see the objects that once belonged to ordinary households, giving a sense of daily life in the region.

Visit during daytime hours when all exhibits are open and the grounds are fully visible. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since you will move between several buildings.

The collection includes a rare 11th-century potter's horn used in ceramic firing, revealing the advanced techniques people used in that era. This object demonstrates how refined their craftsmanship had become.
