G. I. Denisenko Scientific and Technical Library, Scientific library at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine.
The G. I. Denisenko Scientific and Technical Library is a research facility at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute spread across 14,000 square meters. The collection of more than 2.8 million volumes is arranged across 15 reading halls designed for different types of research and study work.
The library began in 1898 as a small room within a commercial school, occupying just about 31 square meters. It gained status as a scientific library in 1965 and has since grown into the major research collection it is today.
The library is organized into three distinct colored zones that reflect how different groups prefer to work and study. These spaces show how the institution adapts its environment to support various learning styles and research needs.
Students need a valid student card for access, while faculty and staff can obtain library cards for their work. The layout is straightforward, making it easy to find the materials and spaces you need during your visit.
In 2022, the library launched Catalog+, a unified search platform that brings together electronic archives and paper-based catalogs. This system makes it possible to search both traditional and digital collections from a single interface.
