Ivan Bahryanyi Park, Public park in Shevchenkivskyi district, Kyiv, Ukraine
Ivan Bahryanyi Park is a public green space in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district situated between Beresteiskyi Avenue, Dovzhenko Film Studio, and an industrial zone. It features walking paths, seating areas, and modern lighting installed during a 2007 renovation.
Established in 1898 as a public garden, the space took on different roles throughout its existence. After World War II in 1945, it housed German military equipment before returning to serve as a recreational area for residents.
The park honors Ivan Bahryanyi, a Ukrainian writer and poet who championed his country's independence, through its name adopted in 2023. This naming reflects how the space connects visitors to important figures in Ukrainian cultural history.
The park provides multiple paths for walking and numerous spots to rest comfortably. The modern lighting makes visits pleasant and safe during early morning or evening hours.
The park contains around 60 different species of trees and shrubs, including English elm, Norway maple, and barberry. This diversity makes every walk a chance to discover varied plant forms and seasonal changes.
