Park Pobedy spreads across 50 hectares between Kruglaya and Streletskaya bays in the Gagarin district, offering shaded tree-lined paths and diverse recreational options. The grounds include equipped beaches, restaurants, an aquapark called Zurbagan, swimming pools, and children's entertainment areas throughout.
In 1975, architect Israel Fialko designed this memorial park to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II. The project created a space dedicated to remembering this period and honoring the significance of the conflict for the region.
Each alley here honors a Soviet Hero City, with trees native to those regions lining the walkways. These paths take visitors through different landscapes and connect them to the memory of cities across the former union.
The park is well-equipped with beach access and offers a range of activities both in and out of water. Visitors should allow time to explore the various sections, particularly if visiting the aquapark or dining areas.
At the center stands a 30-meter monument to Saint George, featuring a bronze statue atop a stone column installed in 2003, creating a striking focal point for the entire grounds. This sculpture has become a recognizable symbol of the park and the city.
