Sviatoshynski dachi, Residential district in Sviatoshynskyi District, Ukraine.
Sviatoshynski dachi is a residential area in western Kyiv combining traditional houses with modern dwellings spread across its neighborhoods. The district functions as a living community with established streets, local shops, and transportation links to the city center.
In 1897 the area became a dacha settlement when authorities divided the land into 450 parcels with 99-year leases for residents. This planned division shaped the district's layout and made it a key residential zone on Kyiv's western side.
The neighborhood features the Vasyl Stus Garden Square, created in 2015 to commemorate the Ukrainian poet whose work shaped national literature. Locals use this space as a gathering point and place of remembrance.
The area connects to central Kyiv through Sviatoshyn Railway Station and metro links, with regular train service available during the day. Visitors can move easily between this residential area and the city center.
A memorial at Chornobylska Street and Peremohy Avenue honors victims of the 1986 nuclear disaster. The monument reflects how this neighborhood remains connected to that historic tragedy.
