Vasyl Stus Square Garden, Kyiv, Garden square in Sviatoshyn district, Kyiv, Ukraine.
Vasyl Stus Square Garden is a green space at the intersection of Academician Palladin Avenue and Peremohy Avenue in northwestern Kyiv. The site features multiple benches, shaded areas, and walking paths for visitors to enjoy.
The garden was established in 2015 from a community initiative that began in 2006 to prevent a shopping center from being built on the site. Local residents successfully fought to transform the land into a protected green space.
The space is dedicated to Vasyl Stus, a Ukrainian poet and dissident who lived nearby. A memorial statue within the garden honors his legacy and presence in this neighborhood.
The garden is easily accessible from multiple directions, including Beresteiskyi Avenue and Akademika Palladina Avenue. Visitors will find benches and shaded areas throughout the space for resting and enjoying the surroundings.
The site was originally where over 100 trees were scheduled to be removed for development. Local activists successfully intervened to prevent this destruction and preserve the land.
