Vasyl Stus Square Garden, Kyiv

Vasyl Stus Square Garden spans across a green space at the intersection of Academician Palladin Avenue and Peremohy Avenue in northwestern Kyiv.

The garden square, established in 2015, emerged from a community initiative that began in 2006 and overcame proposals to construct a shopping center on the site.

A memorial statue within the garden commemorates Vasyl Stus, the Ukrainian poet and dissident who resided nearby until his arrest by Soviet authorities in 1972.

The garden provides multiple benches, shaded areas, and walking paths for visitors, with direct access from both Beresteiskyi Avenue and Akademika Palladina Avenue.

The site marks the location where over 100 trees were initially removed for development, but local activists successfully transformed it into a protected green space.
