Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Vorokhta, 17th-century wooden church in Vorokhta, Ukraine.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a wooden church building on a hill in Vorokhta and demonstrates traditional architecture of the Carpathian region. It features a two-story wooden bell tower and has been arranged to receive visitors.

The structure was built between 1654 and 1657 and was then moved to its current hilltop location in 1780. The relocation to higher ground was done to protect it from marshy conditions below.

The church reflects the craftsmanship of Hutsul woodworkers through its nail-free wooden construction and traditional design. This building technique represents knowledge passed down through generations in the Carpathian region.

A visit works best during the times when the bell tower is open for its small museum exhibitions. The hilltop location requires a short climb but offers views over the surrounding area.

The building was deliberately moved to higher ground by Yuri Morcheniak, the founder of Vorokhta. This decision shows how early settlers understood the land's challenges and adapted their structures accordingly.
