Kropyvnytskyi Raion is an administrative district located in central Ukraine within Kirovohrad Oblast. The region comprises several local communities spread across diverse landscapes and settlement patterns.
The district was substantially reformed in 2020 when several previous administrative divisions were consolidated into a single larger unit. The name change from Kirovohrad Raion occurred in 2018 as part of broader decommunization efforts.
The district maintains strong connections to Ukrainian theatrical heritage through its administrative center, named after dramatist Marko Kropyvnytsky.
