Veseli Bokovenky, Protected area in Kirovohrad Oblast, Ukraine
Veseli Bokovenky is a protected natural area in Kirovohrad Oblast centered on the Bokovenka River valley. The site contains roughly a thousand plant species arranged across distinct zones that recreate different landscape types and geographic settings.
A landscape designer named Nikolai Davydov established this site in 1893 and brought his knowledge of park design to the work. The estate remained intact until the revolution of 1930, when property was seized.
The research center organizes guided tours that demonstrate plant diversity and tree maintenance methods to students and nature researchers.
Several walking paths cross the grounds, passing artificial ponds and following water channels throughout the area. Access is from near the village of Nykyforivka, where visitors can reach the different zones.
The site holds a single Ginkgo biloba tree that is the only specimen of its kind in the entire Kirovohrad region. This tree dates back to the original design period and stands as a living link to the site's founder.
