Luzira Maximum Security Prison

Luzira Maximum Security Prison is a detention facility in Kampala with multiple sections for different prisoner categories. The site includes separate areas for male and female inmates as well as different security levels.

The site has deep historical roots, with archaeological findings from around 1000 AD indicating the area was settled long ago. The famous Luzira Head, a significant artifact from that early period, was relocated to another location for preservation.
