Katosi Water Works, Water treatment facility in Mukono District, Uganda.
The water purification complex near Lake Victoria includes a 500-meter offshore pipeline and multiple treatment units designed to process 160,000 cubic meters daily.
Construction of the Katosi Water Works began in January 2019 following extensive planning efforts initiated in 2011 to address Kampala's growing water demands.
The facility represents a collaborative effort between Uganda's National Water and Sewerage Corporation and international engineering firms from Egypt and France.
The treatment plant features modern laboratories for water quality monitoring, mechanical workshops for maintenance, and integrated waste management systems.
The facility incorporates a dedicated power line from Umeme and maintains a SCADA system that connects with existing water infrastructure across the region.
