Target Center is a multi-purpose arena in downtown Minneapolis with space for more than nineteen thousand visitors during sports events and concerts. The building exterior runs along several blocks and shows modern lines of glass and metal.
The arena opened in 1990 and gave the city a new venue for professional sports and major concerts. A large renovation later modernized the interior spaces and technical systems.
This arena hosts the home games of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx during basketball season. Fans come for evening events and fill the seating tiers while scoreboards light up overhead.
The downtown location makes arrival easy using public transport or a car. Parking lots and transit stops sit near the entrances.
A green roof covers roughly ten thousand square meters and catches rainwater while supporting more than thirty plant species. This system reduces the load on the city stormwater network considerably.
