The IDS Center is an office tower with 57 floors in downtown Minneapolis, United States. The glass facade reaches 792 feet in height and makes it the tallest building in Minnesota.
The tower opened in 1972 as headquarters for Investors Diversified Services. It replaced the Foshay Tower, which had been the tallest building in the city for over four decades.
The Crystal Court on the ground floor serves as a public meeting point with trees and shops. From there, bridges lead into the skyway network that guides pedestrians through downtown.
The building holds offices, shops, restaurants, and a hotel. Access is usually through the Crystal Court, which can be entered freely during business hours.
Antennas on the roof extend the total height to 910 feet (277 m). They serve local radio stations as backup transmission points during outages.
