Rand Tower, Minneapolis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Rand Tower, Minneapolis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Art Deco hotel building in downtown Minneapolis, United States
Rand Tower is a 26-story Art Deco building on Marquette Avenue in downtown Minneapolis, constructed in 1929. The property now contains 270 hotel rooms and preserves its original architectural design with modern amenities.
Rand Tower was designed in 1929 by the renowned architectural firm Holabird & Root for aviation pioneer Rufus Rand. The building functioned as an office structure for decades before converting to a hotel in 2020.
The building displays Art Deco elements with aviation themes that reflect its connection to flight history. Visitors can admire the artful interior design and decorative pieces that tell this aeronautical story.
The hotel connects to other downtown buildings through the skyway system, offering covered passages to nearby destinations. A parking garage directly across from the main entrance makes car access convenient.
The building underwent a major renovation while maintaining its status as a registered historic landmark. This careful restoration allowed the original beauty to be preserved while adding modern comfort.
