300 North LaSalle, Glass office skyscraper at North LaSalle Street, Chicago, United States.
300 North LaSalle is a glass-clad office tower in downtown Chicago with 60 floors of workspace. The building overlooks the Chicago River and houses multiple professional firms in more than 1 million square feet of office area.
The tower was built from 2006 to 2009 by Gerald D. Hines Interests with design by Pickard Chilton Architects. Its completion marked a major addition to Chicago's downtown skyline in the 2000s.
The architecture reflects Chicago traditions through articulated facades while incorporating modern sustainability principles with LEED Platinum certification for environmental performance.
The building is easy to reach from the street and serves as a central hub on LaSalle Street with good access to public transportation. Visitors can view the exterior and surrounding plaza from ground level without needing building access.
The tower draws water from the Chicago River to cool its systems instead of using traditional cooling towers. This approach saves millions of gallons of water annually that would otherwise be lost to evaporation.
