First constructed in 1909 during the presidency of William Howard Taft, the Oval Office has been the main office for the president since President Taft first used it in October 1909.
The Oval Office symbolizes the power and responsibilities associated with the highest office in the U.S. government.
The room features three large south-facing windows behind the president's desk and a fireplace at the north end.
Every president has decorated the Oval Office to suit his tastes.
