Oglethorpe County

Oglethorpe County is an administrative division in northeastern Georgia covering rolling terrain with streams and creeks scattered throughout. The area includes forests, farmland, and several small towns connected by state and federal highways.

The Georgia legislature established the county on December 19, 1793, naming it after James Oglethorpe. He had founded the original Georgia colony decades earlier in the 1730s.
