Atlas Network, American non-governmental organization supporting libertarian, free-market, and conservative groups around the world
Atlas Network is a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. that supports think tanks and policy research groups across more than 100 countries. The organization works with nearly 600 partner institutions, offering training, advisory services, and funding to help advance ideas related to free markets and individual liberty.
Founded in 1981 by British entrepreneur Antony Fisher, who was influenced by economist Friedrich Hayek, the organization began supporting think tanks that share ideas about free enterprise. Since then, it has grown from working with 15 think tanks in the mid-1980s to partnering with nearly 600 organizations worldwide.
The organization offers programs like Atlas Network Academy to train leaders and staff members at partner organizations to improve their skills. Visitors can learn about Liberty Forums, events held on five continents that bring together people interested in freedom and market ideas.
The organization awards the Templeton Freedom Award to recognize projects supporting free-market ideas and publishes a magazine called Freedom's Champion twice a year. The magazine shares success stories and breakthroughs from partners around the world.
