Beaver Creek Resort, Ski resort in Eagle County, Colorado, US
Beaver Creek Resort is a ski area in Eagle County, Colorado, with runs ranging from easy slopes to challenging trails for experienced skiers. The resort spans multiple terrain sections accessed by chairlifts that connect the lower and upper mountain areas.
This ski area opened in 1980 and emerged from a vision developed decades earlier for a winter sports destination in the Colorado valley. Earlier development plans had been imagined in the 1950s before the resort finally took shape.
The resort hosts the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup competitions on the Birds of Prey course, drawing international athletes and spectators to Eagle County.
The terrain layout can feel confusing at first, so having a trail map or using your phone's map feature helps you navigate between different areas. Arriving early in the day or exploring less-crowded sections helps you spend more time skiing instead of waiting for lifts.
The snowmaking system covers 650 acres of terrain, ensuring consistent snow conditions throughout the winter season from November through April.
