Cheektowaga, Suburban town in Erie County, New York, United States.

Cheektowaga spans 29.5 square miles of land and contains multiple neighborhoods, including Bellevue, Cleveland Hill, and Maryvale, near Buffalo.

The town incorporated in 1839 from lands previously part of the Buffalo Creek Indian Reservation, where the Seneca tribe lived.

Polish-American heritage shapes the community, with approximately 40 percent of residents identifying their ancestry from Poland.

The Walden Galleria mall serves as the largest shopping center in the Buffalo Niagara region, offering retail options for local residents.

The name originates from the Erie-Seneca word Ji-ik-do-wah-gah, referring to the abundance of crabapple trees in the area.
