National Track and Field Hall of Fame, Sports hall of fame in Washington Heights, Manhattan, US.

The National Track and Field Hall of Fame is a memorial site in Washington Heights that displays memorabilia, photographs, and stories from athletes who shaped American track and field. The collection documents the sport's evolution through exhibits that capture achievements and important moments across different eras.

The institution was founded in Charleston, West Virginia in 1974 and moved to Indianapolis in 1985 before settling at The Armory in Manhattan in 2002. These relocations reflect how the organization grew and sought increasingly prominent locations to tell the sport's story.

The hall recognizes over 250 people from different corners of track and field, including athletes, coaches, officials, and journalists. Visitors can see how these individuals shaped the way the sport is understood and valued in American life.

The building sits at 216 Fort Washington Avenue between 168th and 169th Streets and is open only by appointment. Plan ahead by contacting the facility before your visit to arrange your time there.

The building shares its space with an arena that hosts major indoor track competitions year-round. From a glass wall on the third level, visitors can see the names of inductees displayed while watching the active sports venue next door.
