High Rock Lake, Reservoir in Davidson and Rowan Counties, North Carolina, United States.

The Tallassee Power Company, a subsidiary of Alcoa, built the reservoir between 1926 and 1927 to supply energy for the hydroelectric facilities at Badin. Since then, the reservoir has served both power generation and recreation for the surrounding communities.
Local anglers favor the early morning hours when the surface often lies calm and fish become more active in the shallower areas. The surrounding communities regularly organize competitions where participants present their best catches and share experiences.
Several public boat ramps offer free access to the water, with no limits on motor size for watercraft. Many facilities along the shore make visiting easier, with docks, camping areas, and other amenities.
The shoreline stretches a total of 587 kilometers and offers many hidden coves that allow visitors to discover quiet corners away from the busier areas. Residential communities and smaller marinas line the shore in many places, so you often encounter local residents launching their boats directly from their yards.
