Drake Union

Drake Union is a student activity center at Ohio State University situated on the west campus between two residence towers near the river. The building houses multiple meeting rooms, recreational spaces, and facilities designed for student organizations and various campus events.

The structure opened in 1971 as a new facility for student activities and engagement. It was named after Edward S. Drake, who oversaw Ohio Union operations for more than 30 years.

The building serves as a social hub where student groups gather for meetings and events throughout the year. It reflects the role of student organizations in campus life and community building.

The building is easy to locate on the west side of campus and offers different spaces for various activities. The best time to visit is during regular semester when campus life is most active.

The building once featured a dock area along the river, making it the only university building in Ohio with direct water access for recreational activities. This distinctive feature made it a special place for students to enjoy water-based pursuits.
