Richland Center, County seat in southwestern Wisconsin, US
Richland Center encompasses 4.36 square miles of land with the Pine River flowing along its western border at 222 meters elevation.
The settlement, established in 1851 by Ira S. Haseltine, became the county seat after he donated land to the county for administrative purposes.
The city maintains the A.D. German Warehouse, constructed in 1921, which displays the Mayan Revival architectural style of Frank Lloyd Wright.
The downtown district contains municipal offices, retail establishments, and dining venues that serve the local population of over 5,000 residents.
The Richland Center Telephone Company, founded here, evolved into GTE Corporation, developing into a major telecommunications provider in the United States.
