NSA Hall of Honor

The NSA Hall of Honor is a memorial space within the National Cryptologic Museum displaying plaques and exhibits about individuals who made major contributions to American cryptology and national security. The room documents the development of encryption techniques and the professionals who advanced this work.

The memorial was established in 1999 to honor military and civilian professionals who advanced cryptologic techniques through innovation and dedicated service to national defense. The collection reflects the development of these strategic capabilities across several decades.

The hall recognizes the work of Navajo Code Talkers and other specialists whose communication methods proved critical during major conflicts. Visitors can learn about these professionals through plaques and display pieces throughout the space.

The memorial is located inside the National Cryptologic Museum in Fort Meade, Maryland, and visitors enter without charge Monday through Saturday. Plan ahead for security procedures since the facility sits on federal government grounds.

Candidates must have been retired from active service for at least ten years before they can be considered for induction into this group. This waiting period ensures that only the most influential professionals are recognized.
