Roycroft, Artist collective in East Aurora, US.
Roycroft is a historic campus in East Aurora, New York, protected as a national landmark. The site includes several buildings made from stone and timber, constructed in the Arts and Crafts style.
Elbert Hubbard founded the community in 1895 as a center for handcraft during the American Arts and Crafts movement. It remained active until Hubbard's death in 1915 and was later recognized as a historic landmark.
Craftspeople worked in studios that remain active today, producing furniture, books, and metalware using traditional methods. Visitors can see working studio spaces where contemporary artisans apply the same techniques.
The campus is open year-round and offers workshops and exhibitions on craft traditions. The buildings are within walking distance of downtown East Aurora.
The original Roycroft shop still operates today, selling handmade goods in the same rooms used over a century ago. Many of the tools and presses on display date from the founding period.
