The Raven

The Raven is a wooden roller coaster in Holiday World Theme Park that winds through a dense forest while preserving natural trees along its path. The ride features steep drops, sharp turns, and varying elevations that create a dynamic experience throughout its course.

Custom Coasters International designed and built this wooden coaster in 1994, opening it to the public in 1995. Its construction marked a shift toward respecting natural landscapes while building new amusement attractions.

The coaster's name references the famous Edgar Allan Poe poem, reflecting the park's literary inspiration theme. Visitors experience a darker aesthetic within the park's overall playful environment.

Riders must be at least 48 inches (122 cm) tall and should store loose items in designated areas before boarding. The journey lasts roughly 90 seconds and requires staying properly seated throughout the ride.

The track passes through a 120-foot (37 m) underground tunnel, an unusual feature that plunges riders into complete darkness for a moment. This hidden section creates a thrilling contrast to the open forest sections of the rest of the ride.
