Eagle Creek Park

Eagle Creek Park is a large recreational area spanning thousands of acres of forest and water in Indianapolis. The grounds feature multiple trails, two nature centers, and a reservoir that serves different purposes throughout the year.

The park was created in 1962 when Indianapolis began building larger green spaces for public recreation. This development became an important way to preserve nature within the growing city.

Two learning centers here offer programs where visitors discover local wildlife and environmental science through hands-on activities.

The area offers different facilities such as swimming beaches, boat facilities, trails, and picnic spots spread across the grounds. Most areas are easy to reach and walkable once you arrive.

The reservoir here does triple duty by controlling floods, supplying drinking water, and providing recreation for residents. This mixed use shows how water management and leisure can work together effectively.
