Eagle Creek Park encompasses 3,900 acres of forest and 1,400 acres of water, featuring numerous trails, two nature centers, and a reservoir.
The park was established in 1962 as part of Indianapolis's effort to create large-scale green spaces for recreation and environmental preservation.
Two educational facilities, the Earth Discovery Center and Ornithology Center, offer programs about local wildlife and environmental science to visitors.
Visitors can access multiple facilities including a swimming beach, marina, hiking trails, playgrounds, and designated picnic areas throughout the grounds.
