Verbeck House

Verbeck House is a Queen Anne style residence in Ballston Spa featuring narrow wooden clapboard siding, a stone foundation, and a six-panel wooden door with stained glass details along Church Street. The building now operates as office space for an insurance agency and financial management company with adjacent parking.

Built in 1889 by architect Marcus F. Cummings, the house served as the residence of attorney James Verbeck. The property remained in his family's hands for nearly a century before changing ownership in 1978.

The interior preserves Art Nouveau wallpaper, cherry-paneled rooms, and original oak parquet floors that show how affluent families decorated their homes in the late 1800s. Walking through these spaces gives visitors a sense of the residential taste and craftsmanship valued during that era.
