Town of New Castle, Administrative division in Westchester County, United States.
The Town of New Castle is an administrative division in Westchester County that includes the hamlets of Chappaqua and Millwood. The territory features residential neighborhoods interspersed with parks and open green spaces.
The territory was purchased from the Siwanoy Native Americans in 1640 by Nathaniel Turner, and it separated from North Castle in 1791. These two events established the community's independent political identity.
The Chappaqua Performing Arts Center hosts theater productions and music performances that shape the cultural life of the community. This venue serves as a regular gathering place where residents come together throughout the year.
The location is easily accessible by car with ample parking available throughout the different areas. Visitors can find a good mix of municipal services and outdoor recreation opportunities nearby.
The Greeley House, home to the Historical Society, contains the first concrete barn ever built in the United States. This unusual architectural feature tells a forgotten chapter of American building history.
