Duquesne Garden, former arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

Duquesne Garden was an indoor arena in Pittsburgh that operated from 1890 to 1956 as a venue for sports events and concerts. The building hosted ice hockey, boxing matches, and other entertainment before being demolished.

The building opened in 1890 and served as Pittsburgh's main event venue for decades. It was torn down in 1956 to make way for newer facilities in the city.

Since the building no longer exists, visitors interested in its history should research local archives or visit Pittsburgh's sports museum. Documentation and photographs from its operating years are available to those wanting to learn more about the venue.

The venue hosted the first professional ice hockey game in the United States, helping establish the sport's foothold in the country. This pioneering moment shaped Pittsburgh's later reputation as a hockey city.
