Area codes 610 and 484 cover twelve counties in southeastern Pennsylvania, including Allentown, Bethlehem, Reading, and parts of the Philadelphia suburbs. The 610 area code was created in 1994 from a split with the 215 region to accommodate population and business growth in the area. In 1999, 484 was added as an overlay code, followed by 835 in 2022 to meet the rising demand for telephone numbers.
