1345 Avenue of the Americas, Commercial skyscraper on Sixth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, United States.
The 625-foot skyscraper at 1345 Avenue of the Americas features 50 floors with a dark glass facade and minimalist International Style architecture.
Completed in 1969 by Fisher Brothers and designed by Emery Roth & Sons, the building replaced the former Ziegfeld Theatre at this location.
The building gained recognition as the site of the first public handheld cellular phone call, made by Martin Cooper to Bell Labs in 1973.
The building contains 36 elevators and offers 1,998,994 square feet of office space, including meeting facilities with views on the 33rd floor.
A fountain resembling a dandelion seedhead decorates the small plaza in front of the building, adding character to the entrance area.
