One57, Residential skyscraper with hotel in Midtown, Manhattan, New York City, United States
One57 is a 75-story, 1,005 ft (306 m) supertall tower at 157 West 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan, with 92 condominiums above a 210-room Park Hyatt. Its facade of dark and light blue glass panels forms vertical stripes, and curved setbacks on the 57th Street side resemble waterfalls. The 58th Street facade facing Central Park is flatter, and the curved roof tapers to 60 feet wide.
Extell Development began construction in 2009 and completed it in 2014. The building was among the first projects along West 57th Street that later became known as Billionaires' Row.
The hotel is a Park Hyatt, the brand's flagship property, with 210 rooms occupying the lower floors; residents above reach their 92 condominiums through a separate entrance on 58th Street. The nine topmost floors, mostly owned by billionaires, earned the nickname "global billionaires' club".
One57 occupies an irregular site with frontage on both West 57th Street and West 58th Street, the two sides slightly offset. The residential lobby has its own entrance on the 58th Street facade, separate from the hotel's access, and the tower stands along 6½ Avenue, a pedestrian walkway between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Its 57th Street side carries the setbacks and rippled canopies.
Two individual residences sold for 100.5 and 91.5 million dollars, representing the highest prices in Manhattan at that time. Buyers from several countries acquired units in this building.
