Alwyn Court

Alwyn Court is a thirteen-story apartment building at the corner of Seventh Avenue and 58th Street, completely covered with detailed terra-cotta ornamentation. The facade displays crafted details that wrap the entire structure in elaborate patterns.

The building was constructed between 1907 and 1909 and originally housed twenty-two spacious apartments. A major renovation in 1938 subdivided the spaces into seventy-five smaller units.

The central courtyard features a painted architectural mural that tells the story of the building through art. The ground floor houses an upscale caviar shop that adds to the refined character of the place.

The building offers 24-hour doorman service and allows pets for residents. The location is convenient, just one block south of Central Park and near Carnegie Hall.

Each of the original apartments contained fourteen rooms and five bathrooms with personal wine storage vaults in the basement. This setup reveals the level of luxury and comfort once enjoyed by the building's affluent residents.
