Harris Bank Addition II

Harris Bank Addition II is an office tower with 38 floors of glass and steel construction located on LaSalle Street in Chicago's financial district. The structure forms part of a larger banking complex that includes two older buildings from different eras.

The building was completed in 1974 and connected two older bank buildings from 1911 and 1958 into a single complex. This gradual expansion shows how banking infrastructure developed on Chicago's financial landscape over more than 60 years.

The building shows features from different architectural styles that reflect how the bank changed and grew over several decades. You can see these differences clearly when walking between the various parts of the complex.

The building is located on LaSalle Street with direct access to public transportation and a continuous pedestrian area. The recessed ground level creates an easy transition to the street and connects the different parts of the complex together.

The building features a recessed street area with a narrow covered arcade that connects multiple structures of the banking complex together. This hidden transition space offers shelter and creates a surprisingly quiet spot in the middle of the busy financial street.
