Stanford Research Park, Technology park in Palo Alto, US
Stanford Research Park is a technology park in Palo Alto housing more than 150 companies in modern laboratory and office buildings spread across the property. Most firms focus on computing, biotechnology, and electronics, with some located directly adjacent to Stanford University's campus.
The park was established in 1951 and became the first university-affiliated research park in the world, a model later copied by many institutions. The project grew from an idea to bring academic research and business ventures closer together while strengthening the local economy.
The park brings together researchers and industry professionals who share ideas through daily interactions in shared workspaces. Open office areas and common spaces encourage spontaneous meetings between companies working on different projects.
The park is easily accessible by car with plenty of parking available at individual buildings across the property. Several bus stops connect to other parts of the Bay Area, and along California Avenue you will find casual restaurants and cafés for quick meals.
The park includes a dedicated Life Science District focused on biotechnology and medical research within its boundaries. This section attracts research teams from around the world working on advances in health and life sciences.
